    is it possible to restore a win xp home edidition back up onto a win xp pro installation?

    What kind of back-up do you have?

    If you've used the File & Settings Transfer Wizard, for example, then yes. If you've created a snapshot image of your harddrive using Acronis TrueImage, for example, then no.

    My mate actually only copy/pasted his documents to external drive so its no problem restoring them.
