Are the offers to college for FETAC holders sent out on the 5th of August or do they come with the leaving certificate offers later in August?

Depends on which FETAC route you are taking - Higher Education Links or the Pilot scheme.

    Round Zero
In early August there may be an issue of a small number of
offers of places which go to certain categories of applicant
who are not awaiting 2010 examination results or who are
assessed on other criteria, e.g. graduate entry medicine
    applicants, mature applicants. (Applicants presenting
FETAC (2002-2010) for consideration for entry to courses
with a quota for FETAC applicants may also be included
    at this stage.)

    Round One
Issue of the main body of offers takes place as soon as
possible after Irish Leaving Certificate Examination results
become available. This is normally within a week of the
issue of results to candidates, in mid-August.

At the same time as first round offers of places are issued
to successful applicants, notices are sent to those who do
    not receive any offer

Hi! sorry for hijacking your post!

I'm hoping you might be able to answer something for me as CAO haven't emailed me back yet!

I just completed a DCHSX award with full distinctions and have been offered a place in Social Science in UCC in Round Zero.

I'm hoping i might recieve an offer for Social Care in CIT in Round One and what i wanted to know is: if i accept the UCC place now and later get offered (or do i get any more offers if i accept this?) CIT can i then accept that one in preference to the UCC offer?

    Thank you in advance!

In this case I would say that it depends on the order of preference of your choices - remember the CAO mantra - you can go up but not down. So if the CIT course is higher up on your list and you qualify and meet all the criteria there is a chance you could get an offer.

Best advice I can givce you is that without knowing all your details go back to your Career Guidance Counsellor and check with them.

Well in any case I would accept your offer of Social Science in UCC, because you can accept this offer and then if you are offered a place in CIT you can accept that and it will automatically cancel your UCC offer in place of CIT. So yeah, accept it know and you can then accept a later offer if you get one.
