    hi

initiall got o2 broadband in aug 08
ought modem for 60e bsigned up for 12 month contract - direct debit - 20e a month
stopped working for me in dec 08 so brought it bac and given new connection wires
stopped working again in dec 09 so brought it bac and was told not eligible for a replacement (even though it stopped working due to no fault of my own)
assistant told me i could upgrade and buy a modem for 20e and agree to a further 18 month contract
received the usb type modem and had constant connection problems with it and noticed just after few days point of input had bent already.
    stopped working completely today
brought it bac and assistant told me i would hav to buy a new modem for 59e
after much debating as I was very angry, I got no satisfaction, I was told that it was not there fault it was faulty and I wasn't eligible for a replacement.
20euro a moth comes out of my account for this service. I also am on the network with my phone as are the rest of my family and are very unhappy with their after service.

I reluctantly bought the modem today for 59euro, as i am very stuck for it, completing a college project and studying for exam

Has anyone had a similar problem or can advice me of what to do as I feel I have been very hard-done by over and over again!!

thanks in advance for any help

I'd suggest buying a 3G router so you can plug in your USB dongle into that so it doesn't get damanged again. You would then be connecting over WiFi from your laptop, this would also give you the added advantage to being able to have more than one machine on the network at a time and also being able to position the router in the part of the house that gives you the strongest possible connection. I'd advise you to check out the thread in the Midband forum on which router to buy.

    thanks for your reply.

How much are these routers? It sounds good. i'm wondering how come I have never been adviced to purchase one of these before my an O2 sales person.

I am very reluctant to give any more money to O2 services at the moment.
