PCL Surgery?

I recently ruptured my posterior cruciate ligament. I saw a consultant at the hospital (prior to getting an MRI) who told me I could go back playing sport on it. The physio also told me in most cases, they tend to just leave PCL ruptures, as most people can get by without it. However, I spoke to a different physio who strongly recommended getting surgery to have the ligament replaced.

Most of the information I can find is old and says there is not much research into PCL surgery. Has anyone got it done recently? Do you have any good websites etc. with information on it?
