Aer Lingus won't allow me to 'manage booking'

I booked flights a month ago for the folks but now I cannot 'manage booking', I've tried to select seats or even just view the itinerary but it just said this cannot be managed and to contact their helpdesk. (I tried this a few weeks ago also)

The flight is from Dublin to Chicago, Chicago to Vancouver in December.

Has anyone seen this before? also is there an email address or do I have to ring them up?

    Cheers.

Did you book it on the Aer Lingus website? If you booked it via another provider, then you might not be able to access it via the Aer Lingus site.

Otherwise, contact their web support and they may be able to advise.

Is this booked on the aerlingus website with a connection?
I had the same last year with a flight to the US and a connection with United.

You cannot access those bookings on their website for some reason - pain in the arse to be honest, I wasn't able to add the Advance Passenger Information etc. I don't know why their system can't handle these types of bookings - a bit archaic really.

But do phone them about reserving your seats, they should be able to do this for you. Phone - don't email, it'll be done and dusted in 2 minutes.

Yeah, it was booked on the aerlingus website, that explains it so, I rang them this morning and after 20 minutes of getting put on hold and cut off I spoke with a nice girl who explained why I cannot manage the booking, only other problem is she told me the flight times had changed but I never received the updated itinerary, she re-emailed it to me but unfortunately it still has the old times on it, guess I will have to ring again at some point...arrrgghhh!!!

IIRC you can only manage an Aer Lingus booking within 48hrs of the flight.

Because there is connecting flight from Chicago to Vancouver, even though it was all booked through Aer Lingus the second flight is 'handled' by a different airline so I will never be able to manage the booking, will ring nearer the time to book seats etc.

    Thanks for getting back.
Methinks they need a serious upgrade to their system.
