iPhone on 3 ... voicemail problems

    Hi folks.

    I got my new iPhone 4 with 3 last friday. I'm lovin' it, but have a small question about voicemail. I got my first missed call and voicemail earlier today, but when I dial 171 to access the message I have to record my name and a message. I dont really want to do this ... I prefer to just have the generic message to leave a message after the beep. So when I did'ne record my name voicemail 171 hung up.

    So what am I doing wrong? is there a way to just have a generic voicemail on 3? Or do you have to have a message and name?

    Is 171 the correct number to get voicemail?

    I think with 3 they make you record a message. I just kept it simple, "hi it's NothingMan, leave a message."

    It's better to that anyway I always hate when I get a machine reading back the number. I know the number, I want to know if it's the right person!!!
