:DI am qualified engineer working in the industry the last 8 years. I always wanted to teach or do lecturing.

I was wondering does anyone know if a qualified engineer can teach. Presumably there would be some sort of course to carry out. Can anyone advise?????

    Thanks

    Whoa!

Look through this forum and you'll find a lot of (discouraging in many places) information on engineer degrees and teaching.

If your degree is on this list you should be able. Others will have more info.

fully qualified engineer is only good if your on the list. Again, lots of info around here regarding getting up to speed but you need to be recognised by the TC and also would ultimately need to do the Hdip/PGDE.
Also remember: theres little jobs out there, you will probably be only teaching some hours to start with, you will most likely be teaching ordinary level junior cert to start with until your experience comes up to speed and lastly be careful in interviews as a new slant is asking as to why you didn't go teaching 8 years if you really always wanted to.
    Best of luck
