Been getting this message about a minute after the desktop appears on startup. If I choose to send an error report (or not) then the toolbar becomes unusable and I can't access the internet. If I leave the error message and don't touch it everything works fine.

I had some spyware on my computer a while ago and I had to change some stuff on startup (disabled cndrive32.exe) to get rid of it. I've also been getting errors along the lines of "This memory could not be accessed" recently.

I found this link, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070911223838AAsy17w, and downloaded the updates listed but it said that the software I have is a newer version of these updates anyway so they didn't help at all.

Any help would be very much appreciated, cheers.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention that this is XP.

    hi DaireM,

Download MalwareBytes from www.malwarebytes.org, check for updates and run a FULL scan of your XP machine. Let MalwareBytes remove any infections found and reboot when prompted.

Run another full scan to confirm nothing else is lurking on your system.

Next, click Start, Run, sfc /scannow and click Ok. This Microsoft utility will check key systems files on your machine and replace any modified or corrupt files with good ones so make sure you have your Windows XP CD handy!

Report back and let us know how you get on ...
