Has anyone listened to this album? I logged on to see what everyone made of it and was surprised to see there is no thread on it.

So far this year there's been no "wow" album for me, until now. So delighted a friend recommended this to me. Any fans of Sufjan Stevens or Bon Iver should check it out. It's getting better with every listen - and it takes a few listens to digest the lyrics. Beautiful, tender, often sad, emotional music.

Yeah I had a listen last week, it's a nice record. Some beautiful harmonies, and very similar to Sufjan Stevens as you say in a lot of ways. You can really feel his vulnerability throughout, so many artists try to achieve that but end up sounding disingenuous, his emotion feels very real.

    Worth checking out.

Really nice but still really ****ing intense album. Very short too which kind of makes it impossible not to go back to the start again after taking a long, deep breath. I reviewed it here: http://www.state.ie/2010/07/album-reviews/perfume-genius-learning/.
