I was just wondering if anyone has done this swim across Dublin Bay?

What are the conditions like with jellyfish/waves etc?

    Thanks

Have never done it myself, but I hear its a tough enough one. Would be very unusual not to get jelliers in Dublin Bay !

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have done it a number of times. 1st year from south wall to Salthill and every other year in the opposite direction. I think it is a tough enough swim in that there is often little or no tidal assistance, its cold,it can be rough in the bay and you can often feel like you are very alone as the swimmers are well spread out because the entry is usually much smaller than normal sea swims. On the up side navigation is easy as there is a buoy every 1k and you also have the ESB chimneys to aim for. There are usually plenty of boats and canoes around. My advice would be to arrange to swim it with someone about your own pace and at least you have company.

Hope this is run this year, has been cancelled twice when I've tried to do it before because of winds/swell.

Slithgly off topic but it'll be interesting to see how Andrew Meegan goes in the 5k today in Hungary, I think its on this morning.
