Bicycle parking at city centre DART stations

Hi all,

Have done some thread searching but nothing popped up to answer my question.

I'm seeking the safest place to leave my bike at one of the DART stations (between Connolly and Sandymount) in order to go to Dalkey for the evening (yes yes, I could ride but don't want to wear the legs out for an evening of rock climbing )

I saw the delapidated bike shed at Grand Canal Dock - limited space, have to haul bike up stairs (that little channel thing doesn't seem to work) and some of the lock points had already been snipped. So seeking alternatives!

Suggestions?

If a lot of negative feedback comes back I'll resort to riding home first as I'm still going through the honeymoon phase as its a new purchase. Not ideal, but better than a stolen bike..

theres a shed beside Pearse - not sure how secure it is, but you'll probably be alright if you have a decent lock.
I think the bike-parking at Connolly is alongside Platform 2 so its probably reasonably secure.

how does the channel/gutter thing not work - its just a metal slope isn't it?

It's too close to the centre railing - tried it the other day and pedals/handlebars kept hitting things, and when I angle the bike far enough over for it not to do that, the wheels woudl catch on the side of the channel.. *sigh* Good idea though..

I tried using that shed before and they said it's not open to the 'general public'. They have a limited amount of keys that are given out for it, you have to apply in writing for a key and they only give out new keys when one of the current key holders hands back theirs.

Useless for people looking to use it as a once off.

that's very elitist altogether...
