There seems to be plenty around about emulating a usb connection via software but i'm wondering does anyone know anything about emulating it via hardware or another computer.

For example, you plug 2 computers into each other and emulate something like a keyboard or hard drive on one and the other sees it plugged in.

If you haven't, recommended search keywords are also appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure of what you're looking for but would something like this do? I have the 2 port version (i.e. I can share a USB device between 2 computers) and it works well enough.

No sorry. I want to essentially emulate a device for a computer with another. So i want the computer to act as a slave.

Edit: was searching some more there i think it would require a lot of hacking to make the chip act as a slave. I think i'd probably need some sort of device in between.
