BT's Loyalty Card

Was all excited received a black envelope in the post this morning from BTs - opened it up to reveal their Black Loyalty Card entitled giving something Black ... anyhoo I was being informed that my loyalty reward was €9.66 --- honestly I know its better than nothing but I'd say between myself and my hubbie we would have spent over €500 in the last few months for a tenner back -- don't think a money reward works for them as a €10 in BTs would'nt go very far! I think rather than money exclusive invites would be far better - anyhoo just wondering what you ladies think of its loyalty card?

I remember reading about how much you get for what you spend when I first got the card and you really have to be spending SERIOUS money in there regularly to get anything worthwhile. I spend maybe 50 on makeup every few months, im certainly not going to get anything massive from them. I still use the card because theres no harm but i wouldnt be awfully upset if i lost it :)

That's a better return than the Dunnes clubcard and worse than Boots Advantage card. Really you need to be spending serious money to get anything decent back in the absence of 'double points' offers etc.

I think you get 1% back, so you spend e100 to get e1. I prefer to buy my cosmetics in Boots as they do 4% back and have more special offers.

Basically, I think it's a useless piece of conniving marketing used by BT to extort as much money as they can from people under the guise that there's a tangible reward to you for shopping there when clearly there isn't. An insult to their customers, essentially.

I work in BTs but NOT for BTs.....the card is crap as a money saver/points reward system BUT some of the other perks are worth it eg: Card holders get a sneak peak & shop in the sales and invites to events. Plus the more you spend the more rewards you are entitled to.

BTW all staff who work there are under so much pressure to swipe a black card for every sale so it is worth bringing it in with you if only to make their lives easier!! :P

I have one. Don't really mind if the rewards aren't great. It wasn't exactly a big deal for me to be handed it while I was buying a lipstick and just have to validate it online. I mean, I get e-mails from BT now about sales and things that are on, so that's good. It's not like I was expecting anything insanely special from it so I'm happy enough.

You can't add the points afterwards like you can in Boots; it's really annoying. I didn't have mine with me at the weekend and ended up spending a fair bit there but I didn't have my regular purse with me so I lost the points. I know it doesn't add up to much but still; you should be able to add the points afterwards like you can in Boots.

I was in at the Bliss counter recently with my friend and she was spending quite a bit but had forgotten her card. She told this to the girl and she said she could put the points onto the card there and then. She took my friend's name, rang some department where they deal with the cards, gave them my friend's name and they were able to give her the number of the card. She then just put into the till and the points went on!

The girl said that all the counters can do this but you have to say it to them because alot of them won't tell you.
