Freesat IDTVs - why not more?

    How come manufacturers are shying away from bundling Freesat tuners into their televisions? As far as I can see, only Panasonic have current models with Freesat tuners.

    Sony made a handful, and so did LG. But their current models don’t include these tuners. I have an LG Freesat television and it’s excellent – it’s neatly wall mounted and I get the Saorview tests and Freesat without the need to have an extra box connected.

    Shame really…

    Sony abandoned Freesat tuners in early summer but have not formally confirmed this ...its just that they have not had any stock for months.

    I believe the LG is still made...but has gone up in price... and the Panasonics of course. Nobody has launched a new Freesat IDTV in the past year.

    I emailed LG Customer Service recently about the 32" model and got this reply:

    "...However, the 32LF7700 should still be available at major store and online retailers for a limited time despite being discontinued."

    Have just ordered one from RicherSounds as there is a significant leap in price for the Sony/Panasonic models
