Your innocent until proven guilty ... this ain't soviet russia.

Sorry OP, no suggestions, I'd recommend though that you get advice from a Solictor and attend court yourself, otherwise the solictor will just whack on a big fee for doing what you could do yourself anyway.

Totally agree - over a decade ago,I got charged over £400 in old notes to have a goombeen represent me in court - he was useless. Still got cooked by the judge.
I would have done better to represent myself.

Thanks for that, there is an excellent solicitor in Cork who generally represents folks who are guilty.

He'd be a fairly crap solicitor if he told everyone to plead guilty. IMO

Whats the problem, the op asked a question, I tried to give him an answer.

I think your mixing up morality and the administration of the law.

Why play games, just ride in on the horse already and start with the "FFFFFUUUU, you did the crime now do the fine" :P

Better to plead guilty and get off with a smack on the wrist then plead innocent and get bent over. Your opinion and your replies in this thread are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

    Cool.
So you can go blazing round a bend on the wrong side of the road and smash into a patrol car and still be innocent until proven guilty

In the eyes of the law, yes. Do you think in that scenario the driver should be sent to jail without due legal process?
What if I suffered a heart attack (or similar) and drifted across the road and took out a squad car? Would you have me executed on the spot?

Do you think the Driver of the Patrol car would be charged with whatever driving offence and had to appear in court in front of a judge

Sorry, I don't understand. If the fantasy patrol car driver had not commited an (alleged) offence, why would they appear in court? On what charge? Being unwittingly crashed into?

Now you're presuming guilt on the part of an apparently innocent party.

Meh. If you like having your file read on the morning of the trial and said individual not being able to remember your name, then yep.
