I am thinking about getting this so that I can watch rented movies from itunes on the TV. Has anyone got an Apple TV and is it any good, worth the money etc.?

standard apple tv box is crap enough, but they are simple to soft modify and make for an excellent media centre with xbmc or boxee installed, hard drives are a bit small tho and take a bit more effort to increase

Have one a few months now and am very happy with it.

Have a us itunes account so was downloading movies before the Irish one caught up. Handy for when I down load American tv shows and movies from TPB

Yep great device, hacked with patchstick.ca software for ease but really wasn't worth it as documentation and support is rubbish.

Also use U.S. itunes account

Veryhappy with it and using with a USB HD, just about to set up access to a NAS for media feeding...

Bought an ATV 40gig about a year ago and it done the job nicely, very handy with the US ITunes account. Since then i've bought a mini and tend to use it for all my media with Plex.
I've dropped the ATV down to my brother's house in the hope he'll enjoy using it and will buy it off me
