    Hi all,

Had my gearbox lock up over the weekend.

Any suggestions how to prevent this happening again?
Is there any way to free it up without taking the AEG apart?

Charge up your battery fully and try again, or get stronger battery, or push the piston back thrue the air nozlle

Cheers Mafo - Through the air nozzle is a sweet idea. Can do that in the field. Thought it was the battery at first but could feel the motor torqueing up.
I'm just worried it will happen again mid-game:(

Its a classic army SA58. Running on an 8.4v large batt.
She worked perfect for 2 skirmishes before this and about 5 hours on Saturday.

did you try a different battery, it could be knackered?
Had the same with mine before, turned out the piston had dissentagrated and jamed the gearbox, even if it's not the piston in this case I'd change it anyways!

Once i freed up the piston she works fine on any of the batts I have.

I'm trying to prevent it locking up again. Might have a look in the gearbox incase something is damaged.

It's because you've got a fugly gun m8! once you get one
your cursed for your skirmishing life. (but onlookers remain jealous)

    I've got a King Arms FAL, A Star L1A1, A King Arms L1A1
and I've an SA-58 ordered from Eirsoft. All 3 of my guns
that I've tried have had gearbox lock up issues and weird stoppages I dont know why!

Even on the field I would be shooting on semi and all of a sudden nothing, total lock up,
pull trigger nothing happens. I've found by switching from auto to semi and back sometimes
helps. (all with 8.4v large cell battery)
