Can anyone tell me what happens at the end of this film? I saw up until he found the picture in the attic - the DVD then went loopy (scratched Id say). I dont want to rehire to watch last 20mins.
Can anyone PM me what happens?
    Thanks!

There are 2 different endings to the movie. The one that was shown in the cinema and then one that was the original ending before the major film company bought up the movie.

Check wikipedia and it will tell you both endings

Good God. They are all horrific!

did people like this film? I thought some parts were very good. The bush shaking and ouija board lighting up looked a little fake though.

I think the original ending was great and it should have been left at that. I think they are gonna make a second film and im sure its gonna be rubbish, like the Blair Witch Project 2 :(

I didnt mind the movie. I kinda enjoyed it but the best thing about it was when me and my cousin were walking out after the movie this guy turned to my cousin and said "that was a pile of ****e",i looked over at where he had been sitting and there was a wheelies bag of crisps full of vomit on the floor beside his seat!!!!!

    Hahaha no way!

I think the non-human footsteps part was quite good.

There's already a trailer out for the sequal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SSc3bmdd8o

I thought you either loved or hated the first movie.....like Blair Witch. I love the suspense horror movies with little or no gore. +1 on the footsteps coming up the stairs.

This movie gave me the creeps. It's a slow burner to watch but the tension builds perfectlly.

This film is awful - one of the worst I have seen in a long while. Avoid like the plague. It has 2 of the most annoying central characters ever and its so goddamn boring. It looks like a cheap piece of crap from some nerdy college grad. 1/10

We are all overlooking the fact the lead actress had great tits.
Bit of a chubster breaking out but a top rack none the less.

I'll watch the second one out of curiosity.

Besides the females breasts there was nothing interesting in this whole film tbh

could have done with more boobage actually

Awful, unfortunate waste of 1.5 hours of my life.

well i think its the effect of the "documentary" type of movie that wears off, first time ever the Blair Witch was unreal, scared me for month, grabbed the stanger seating next time me few times and turned me off for life going camping!
and its a movie ...I KNOW!

after that, mmm so so, its not the same dear anymore, little scare sure but not as bad

wonder how the sequel is gonna be, like previosu poster said, hope its not as bad as Blair Witch 2 was ..awful.

If you can buy into it and you're not a horror buff (generally jaded and more difficult to please) then this movie can be quite enjoyable. I didn't personally like it but a lot of my friends did. So if you haven't seen it I'd recommend you give it a watch!

I did quite like the night/day anticipation. Leaving the bedroom door wide open looking into the hallway was a great touch. I really felt this film needed a bigger budget. Not for the camera/recording, but for doing more 'paranormal activity'. It's boring as hell until at least an hour in. It would've been nice if they had a scene outside the house (i.e. another set)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭TashaMonster

I think not going outside the house actually added to the film, it created a kind've claustrophobic suspense to the film, we wanted them to leave the house so that they'd potentially escape from whatever was haunting them but by staying there it really built up tension.

I definitely see what you're getting at. I was hoping they'd go to a hotel; and experience the same paranormal whatnot, and so resign to going back to the house (or think of a better reason why they'd go back to the house). Not leaving despite injury/all these warning signs, and having the psychic dude refuse to help them out should've made them leave; or attempt to leave or something! Tense yes, but also idiotic, which was a bit annoying!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭TashaMonster

Yes Jaykhunter it was idiotic of them, hence giving us a feeling of superiority :p and leaving us safe in the knowledge that we would survive a similar situation because we'd make the right decisions :D

    LOL! So very, very true!!

I didnt expect much from paranormal Activity but i honestly found it to be a very effective film. Sure, its not perfect but there are very few films that are, especially in the Horror bracket.

People are complaining about them not leaving the house,
but they were about to, but she got possessed and talked the husband into staying, all he wanted to do was please the woman and didnt know what he was in for
However this is but a minor point imo.

For me the true masterstroke of the film was the static camera "sleeping" scenes, the camera position left you with a view up the hall and slightly into the room at the end of it, you knew there was a bathroom to the left, and the stairs just off the right past the door and the bedroom was cut off on the far left.
This left you, especially on the big screen, straining to keep a close watch on all corners of the screen and in turn heightened your alertness and adrenaline, despite the fact that it wasnt a fast paced film.

I quite liked it because, as a horror fan, my imagination did an awful lot more to scare me than any film ever could and this is definitely one of those movies where what doesn't happen is far more effective than what does.

    what a wimp he was.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranormal_Activity_2 says Micah is in 2 but he died in part one. The end says his body was discovered a few days later by the police

I watched this film on my own, late at night. Scared the bejaysus out of me. I couldn't get off the couch to turn the lights on after it finished. I was too scared to get up!

Interested to see what they've done for the sequel.

Just seen the movie and am pretty easy to scare with these movies but have to say this didn't do much to me. The ending I saw was poor, very bloody poor. Obviously not the best ending available.

Absolutely agree bout the boobs especially when she's wearing a purple sweater .......... woaahhhhh Moma

    This scene:

Finally got around to seeign this last night. It was a bit slow, but i gotta say a couple of bits did manage to scare the be'jaysus outta me, especially the end where
yer man was lobbed at the camera & where she was dragged outta the bed.
It's the simple things, as in lights coming on and off and doors closing by themselves that are most effective i think. Looking forward to seeing the 2nd one now

I got a scare out of the movie not because of jumpy out bits (which the movie was light on), but the effect it's meant to have on you after..as in hearing something downstairs when in bed and all that!
Also liked how well it mimicked people's tension during the day and during the night..like during the day scenes I could watch grand because I felt nothing would happen..just like during the day I'm not thinking about scary stuff, but at the night scenes I had 1 eye closed and was always on edge
