zavvi.com have the Megadrive collection disc for 13 quid on there at the moment (gotta love that mega mondays sale) worth picking up? I really only want it for the 3 Streets of Rage games which I play occasionally on my emulator but I moved house and lost my pc joypad so dont bother anymore. anyone have this? the games list is missing some gems but its still fairly comprehensive.

edit: screw it, gonna buy it anyway, a trip down memory lane is worth a few bucks :D

I gotta loan of it before and played it more than my other games. Sonic spinball and Comix Zone mostly, some great gems on it and class trophies!

I think the hardcore Retro fans were disproving of it due to some changes in some games or something. Definitely worth 13quid I think personally but I avoid Zavvi and the Hut Group sites as they say they have something "in stock, usually dispatched within 3days" and you don't get it for weeks and weeks. Once bitten, twice shy and all that....

Really, I've never had a problem with Zavvi, I buy stuff in their Monday morning sale and usually have it by Thursday, some of the prices they sell games for is crazy, bought the GOTY edition of COD4 for 15 quid shipped. Dantes Inferno was 13.99 last week on there, well worth a browse to pick up games that have been out for a few weeks that Gamestop are still charging a ludicrous amount for (49.99 for COD4, ffs, its nearly 4 years old!)

The Megadrive Collection is well worth €13, it's great. Some games have aged very badly, but playing through Streets of Rage is still fun.

Bloody hell was waiting ages for this to turn up from zavvi, first time I've ever ordered something that took longer than a week to turn up, still though, enjoying the game, theres a few things that are sorely missing, Flashback, ToeJam and Earl, Zombies Ate My Neighbours, Thunderforce III, The Immortal, Micro Machines, and a ton more i could mention, buts it worth having for the Streets of Rage trilogy, the Sonic games and the arcade versions of Shinobi and Altered Beast "wwwwwissseee from your gwwwwave!"

The games look horrible in "HD" though, its basically stretched with a blurry filter to smooth out the pixels, no thanks, 4:3 and pixels ftw :D

myself and my buddy recently played streets of rage 2 from start to finish on it.. good for a trip down memory lane, but it got boring pretty fast..

the only game i'd turn it on for is columns.. i was addicted to that game as a kid..

Most of them were 3rd party games as opposed to sega ones so sadly its unlikely they'd show up on this or any sequels (Toejam and earl was a sega game but its in copyright limbo now : - " Ethan Einhorn, producer of the compilation, confirmed in a recent interview that it was not possible to include it on the disc due to licensing.").
Its well worth a purchase though if you ever had a megadrive.

Am loving hearing the games in stereo for the first time as well, had a crappy mono tv in my room when I had my megadrive as a kid, its great hearing the still awesome Streets of Rage 2 music blaring out of a pair of Sennheiser headphones :D
