Hi, does anybody here know when the academic year for first year students will start? I'm doing Arts. When is the initiation week (is that what it's called?) and when do lectures start? Late August? Early September?

    Thanks in advance,
    Brian

Late September for everything, probably around the week of the 23rd.

Well the dates are all here. First semester is from September 20th to December 10th.

The orientation is different for each course. When you get the registration pack, you'll be told when all that stuff is.

From looking at that timetable, college finishes on the 01/04 yes? or is there exams at the end of the easter recess? just curious

No, college finishes on the 25th of March. The following week is a "Review" week. Whatever review lectures you'll have are usually in this week.
Then the exams start on the 3rd of May, and go on for four weeks.

Orientation takes place during the two weeks before lectures start and each course will be informed about which days to attend when you recieve your registration pack.

The more pertinent question, however, is when will they shut the hell up in lectures and get out of my way. ;)
