Belfast black taxi tours

Heading to Belfast at the weekend, and am torn between doing a walking tour or taking a black taxi tour. I was planning on judging the weather on the day and making a decision then, as I'd read somewhere that you could stop any black taxi in the street and ask for a tour, but that might be leaving it a little too much to chance. Also, I assume you can cover a lot more interesting ground in a taxi.

Has anyone done both and recommend either? Am I better off pre-booking the black taxi before I leave? Any tips on which black taxi company?

I've only done the Black Taxi Tour once, and it wasn't that good.
Seemed as though the driver didn't know his stuff, was waffling on a fair bit, and even got some of the places wrong!

I haven't done the City Walking Tour, so I can't help you there.

However, the best tour / show / experience was the Titanic Walking Tour. It was great, and the guide is a complete fanatic about the Titanic and the ship yard. Ask him anything, and he'll have an answer! The tour end up at the actual dry dock where the ship was fitted out. We all really enjoyed it, and we'd probably do it again whenever we get back.

I recommend TaxiTrax. Plenty of Ex-POWs working for them so they know their stuff.
