I've seen a few threads based on vista but i'm having a little trouble figuring out how to set it up with win7 64. I normally use my digiweb but that seems to be on the blink so i'm trying the dongle. Anyone have any info on this please??

pn the pc/laptop go to network and sharing in control panel, click change adapter settings in the top right of the screen, right click the o2 modem and go to properties and then the sharing tab, tick the box that says allow others to connect through this connection, its easier if ya do it through local area connection

restart the connection and then run an ethernet cable form ur laptop to the ps3
select auto for the connection and thats it

the connection will probably be crap for most games but its better than nothing

Thanks, i got it working and its fine for mw2 on ps3, but keeps dropping out of xbox live. Better than nothing though. Must give digiweb a ring.

I have nearly perfect games on 3 mobile broadband. Sure it can be ****e aswell, but when it's good (95% of time) I get 3/4 bars with good latency. Maybe it depends on provider and area coverage.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but what kind of cable is required to connent laptop to PS3?

There are loads of old cables lying around in work here. How do I know if they would work?

    Thanks...

What kind of ethernet cable? A cross over one or a straght through?

Just asking a question, no need for the roll eyes.

    Straight.

It doesn't matter the PS3 and any modern computer will correct itself if you use a straight instead of a crossover, so just go with a Straight it's probably handier.
