    Masthead amp you mean? The FTE Maximal M1000 is excellent for weak reception areas along with a Vision power supply unit. Triax masthead amps are very good also. Labgear variable masthead amps made by Philex are a cheaper solution. :)

    Hmm, is the FTE the one with jumpers so you cna choose what gain you want from IIRC 3 options? They're a good amp.

    As for Triax, I think that they're rubbish nowadays (Although, having said that, I haven't used many of their newer ones with F-type connectors and PSU LED - maybe they're better).

    I do prefer Johansson mostly though.

    Yes the jumper type model and it is probably the best spec wise. I bought a Group B old model Triax masthead amp and the gain and reception from it was excellent for the price. TV Trade.ie recomend Triax. I will look at the Johansson website and check the specs now. Just checked and I'd still go with the FTE as it has a lower noise ratio of only 0.8db so will provide a clearer picture. Triax usually have a 1.8db signal to noise ratio.
