buying a SHC. NCT confusion

So I got told two conflicting things by two salesmen. Say a car is out of its NCT, they're going to put it through the NCT For me.

The new date of the NCT will it be from now i.e. August or will it be from the last time it was due the NCT

Say for example it was due an NCT in february would the new NCT only date it from februaury. Im basically looking to find out will I get a full 2 year NCT or say 18 months?

Been searching this morning and cant find any answer. Any help greatfully recieved. Cheers

NCT always runs from/to the date of first registration, no matter when the actual test takes place.

As you can take the test up to three months prior to the due date, you could have a test as short as four months or as long as two years and three months and anything inbetween.
