Ok, so I didn't know where else to post this...I'm wearing a black silk floorlength gown with silver beaded embellishment and silver jewelery to my bf's debs, and I'm thinking of wearing silver brogues, but, my two sisters think I'm mad doing so. Any thoughts?

Black or silver sandals would be fine.

Black I suppose you will be more likely to wear again so will be handy to have for all your college nights out!
Just don't wear rediculously high shoes that you can't walk in as so many girls look ridiculous stumbling around in too high shoes. Or even worse you will end up walking round in no shoes on yukky sticky dance floor.

Hope you have a great night.

Thats my idea, I had my own debs last year, and my heels hurt so bad (and i was quite drunk) so I took them off and ended up treading on a smashed pint glass...so I'm thinking flat, comfy shoes and then I wont have to! Would black be better so you think?

I can't get my head around what brogues would look like with a debs dress, but if you want to wear flats you could get ballet pumps (dull, but the dress is so long then they're not going to be seen) or jewelled flat sandals will give you the comfort factor.

I don't have a link to ones you could get in Ireland but this kind of idea (and these are super comfy)

As long as your dress covers your shoes, you can really get away with anything. One of my friends wore pumps she got in Penneys for a fiver to her debs :) I also love those brogues, they're so pretty!

A lot of girls I know who had their debs this year wore gladiator sandals if they were wearing long dresses, you could try it!

Gladiator sandals sadly don't agree with my feet, I'm not able to wear a lot of strappy shoes or sandals, they cut my feet...:( the silver brogues in the link are from Penneys and I got them for €5, because I wear a lot of those kind of shoes!

The brogues are cute, but it's a lot of shoe for a formal dress, with your whole foot covered it might look a bit clumpy - if strappy won't work how about something like this?

but you've tried them on, only you know what it looks like. If you're happy with it, don't mind your sisters or anyone else!
