    Hello all,

I was in the process of getting a permanent visa application through Australian Migration Lawyers. As the result of the TRA requiring 5 consecutive years in a particular field of work my visa application could not be processed any further. I had already made 2 payments to Australian Migration Lawyers for their services. When they emailed me in March to tell about the visa application not going any further I was told I was entitled to a refund.

To date, after several emails, I still have not received any money back. I've been in touch with Liz O' Hagan's office in Clane who I was dealing with initially. They told me I have to deal with Australian Migration Lawyers in Australia. This is who I was corresponding with by email.

Every time I email I keep getting fobbed of by Amanda Skeen in their office who tells me someone form their accounts department will be in touch. They haven't. I am at a loss as to where to take this further. Is there some sort of consumer complaints authority in Oz I can contact? Just really really frustrated at this stage

Have a search on link below to see if they are MARA registered (governing body for migration agents in Australia).
If they are you can probably let them know you are going to get incontact with MARA unless they get a move on.
    https://www.mara.gov.au/agent/ARSearch.aspx?FolderID=394
If they still dont refund the money then get in contact with MARA

Looks like they're governed by the MIA - Migration Institute of Australia http://mia.org.au/

I've sent them an email asking about their complaints procedure.

It is the mara.gov.au that these are regulated under not the mia. I just found out that liz o'hagan is no longer with this lawyer company but is still australian visa specialists on the mara so maybe contact her. hope you get your money back. A

Have you tried ringing them ? Sometimes you really have to just push.

Complaint lodged with MARA as well as MIA. I will contact Liz O' Hagan's office tomorrow to see if there is anything else that can be done.

Just an update on this. Got an email back from AML this morning saying I should have my refund by the end of the week. Maybe the email I sent them saying I made a complaint to MARA/MIA spurred them into action. Or maybe they're just bull****ting me again.

And I've just received a missed call/voicemail from a Bill Gamack who is one of the owners of AML according to his vmail.
