I want to swap out the stock pickups on my Yamaha SA503 TVL semi-hollow body (there is a bit of hum with the stock ones) but haven't a notion how to do it. Is there anywhere in Dublin that would do a good job with it, and roughly how much would it cost? Cheers

Just before you go changing them, is it your usual single coil hum or something more serious? Does the hum ease up on some of the settings where you have more than one pickup selected? I'm finding it hard to imagine that the stock pups in that are poor and I'd imagine theres a few settings that have the pups humbucking, maybe thats all just my imagination though :D

It's pretty much across the board with all 3 of the P90s, although it does get slightly worse when i have more than one selected. I use the guitar with an Axe Fx preamp for both direct recording and direct thru the P.A for the occasional live gig, and the hum makes it pretty unpleasant to say the least. Even my cheapo Ibanez GAX30 is near silent in comparison. Could possibly be the wiring too, but i'm not sure

Could someone pass me on info too. Im looking at changing a pickup in a Japanese 72 Telecaster Custom. It has a problem with the switcher. It will only pickup one pickup or the other, not both. So need to replace that too as well as putting in 500k pots for the neck pickup which is meant to improve the sound. Its nice guitar but the electrics are ****!
