From what I can see the more expensive one has speakers and is 2k heavier. The cheaper one doesn't. Only €20 in the diff anyway.

I'd get the cheaper, it has a lower refresh rate.

What are you using it for out of interest?

You will be disappointed by the quality difference :P

most of you's will probably think i'm mad, but i want a second monitor for my iMac but bit stumped on what to get.

have narrowed it down to these two.

    or

can anyone tell me the difference in these? the more expensive one seems to have a lower refresh rate than the cheaper one 5ms vs. 2ms why is it more expensive so? i thought refresh rates were practically the defacto standard on measuring monitors or am i missing something?

I was looking at these myself, the more expensive one has a built in TV (DVB-C/DVB-T) tuner - check the additional info tab.

thanks for the input folks. cheaper one it is.

Will be using the iMac and the second screen for

    logic.
    illustrator.
    photoshop.
    lightroom.
    steam games.
    xcode.
    video encoding.

which should all be handled nicely on the iMac, but screen real estate is just so hard to get used to one monitor after having used two for the past 5 years both in college and in work.

not overly concerned with quality of the secondary monitor not being up to scratch with the iMac one.

Hi All, I'm looking to buy a monitor to be used to connect my laptop for a bigger external display.

So far I've looked at Dell, Samsung and LG screens.
I was thinking the bigger the better so a 27" would be preferable but as I will be sitting quite close to the screen at my desk I would be open to a smaller screen if it would be better suited.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what would be best?
Price range is between €500 and €1000.
    Thanks!

If you've the budget for it then an LED apple display IMO is the best

Would that be compatible with Dell laptop/Windows OS or what issues would I face?

Why would you choose an Apple display over other high end displays from Dell/Samsung/LG such as the Dell U2711?
