The thing with he dominos discount codes, is they dont work with any of the deals or offers, so that can make it actually more expensive when they are '%' vouchers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,076 ✭✭✭Eathrin

Well as I figured out nowadays most places accept competitor vouchers, desperate and all that,so simply cut a pizza slice BOGOF off a tesco reciept and BAM buy one get one free.

Didn't work for me there now but an older one still does, UMKJFAVA. €10 off when you spend €30 or more.

Vouchers for Pizza places just don't last long enough to be used in my household :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 605 ✭✭✭babo9

Back around xmas when the phone books were coming out, a new smaller one came too, had a lot of vouchers in it.

One was 50% off Dominoes when you spend over €40, valid until 31/12/10.
Have used it a few times, never been asked for the voucher!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,386 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

In most pizza places if you pay anything over 50% of the menu price then you are paying too much, "half price" IS normal price. Its like the emporers new clothes the way some people are so oblivious to the fact that pizza is so out of line relative to other takeaway foods.

4star in sandyford do a lunch special, 9" pizza & 2 toppings and a can for €5. I got one earlier and thought it was a reasonable enough price for what it was -just checked now online, it would be €12.60 to order the same for pickup -ridiculous price.

You never see 50% off or BOGOF in the local Chinese -because they charge a reasonable price to begin with.

Looks like the codes are exclusive to each store. My code works for the Finglas store.

    Agreed
It's only worth buying pizza from most chains with a BOGOF coupon, otherwise it ridiculously overpriced for what it is.

Ordered off pizza hut last week and was suprised at the amount they give you.
    Large pizza.
    Decent amount of fries.
Above average amount of garlic bread.
A dozen chicken type things (Real chicken)
    2 litre bottle of pepsi.

    20 Euro online offer.

It just shows they really are making it up as they go along!!

Edit Actually I presume the difference is the 19.95 deal is an online offer only.

    Opr

The 19.95 deal is online only ,but theres four options for payment online
    Card Delivery or Pickup
    Cash Delivery or Pickup.

I didn't think the pizza hut ,pizza was as nice as dominoes ,but the amount you get is worth it. (Could be also my local is not a good branch)

Haha! We once drew one on the back of a cornflakes box and they accepted it!!

Probable the funniest moment of my drunken early 20 unemployed years!

Better still do one up in photoshop with some ridiculous offer on it.

Just to open some peoples eyes on how out of line the pricing is.

pizza hut 11.5"- €12 +€1.50 per topping, up to 4 so €18, their "set menu" pizzas are €16 or €18

Palm beach takeaway -(a normal chipper who do not bow down and copy those arseholes in marketing in the pizza places and do not try and make fools out of their customers)
    http://www.just-eat.ie/restaurants-palmbeach/menu
12" pizza -€9 with 4 toppings, or €8 for their set menu 12" pizzas.

Like I said -half price IS normal price.

Not a fan of Pizza Hut no?
Not a fan of the pricing policy in any of the major pizza chains.
    They're only doing there job!
Other fastfood companies manage to market their products without resorting to treating their customers like utterly stupid naive idiots. This stupid constant need for vouchers to pay the normal price is only applicable to pizza companies. Half the crap in my green bin is from those pricks, wasters in every sense of the word.

I don't know anyone who gets annoyed about paying for pizza. It's cool sitting down with people and watchin a movie with a pizza on the table ,it's just not the same with a chinese etc.

Who said anything about paying twice the value ?

I'm merely saying it's a different type of food ,that you can't compare it's ingredients with other foods etc.
It has a different type of value ,more of a party food and thats why people pay for it.

Me and my friends always use this one. Rarely get asked for the actual voucher. Works a treat.

I did -I said the pizza people treat you like a f*cking idiot expecting you to go rooting around for vouchers just to pay the NORMAL price. If you are paying the menu price you are paying well over the odds, vouchers are ALWAYS available.
    yoshytoshy wrote: »

 WTF! of course you can compare the ingredients -are you mad?!? I have said before it my local Chinese did pizzas and worked on the same profit margins as their other foods it would be a fraction of the price of the big pizza places. I already showed the price in a normal chipper with no offers, the pricing is in line with their other foods, e.g. a 1/4lber with cheese is made up of bread/flour, cheese, meat, tomato sauce -very similar ingredients to a pizza. Same goes for smaller independent Italian restaurants who do takeaway pizzas, I remember a mate of mine raving about how cheap one was but it was not cheap at all, just the price you should expect to be charged. I find it really strange that people are so blind to this and do not seem to question it, I worry where else they are blindly paying over the odds.

This is the most bizzare logic I have heard in a long time, the pizza lads must be sh!tting themselves laughing seeing that some people actually think this way.

Oh no, think of the poor starving children, that man is a monster

just go to after hours and look for one of the numerous threads on chuggers -one type of marketers for charities, many people do view them as vile scum of the earth.

Bill Hicks does a good routine on it ... which I tend to agree with him on ... there are lots of people who detest "marketing" and it's purpose to put a price on anything

Yes the whole marketing division is complete bollocks.
Everyone pays high prices for pizza, people beleive that you can get a good €25 deal with say a pizza, drink and a few wings thrown in. People beleive that this is GOOD value because the pizza companies say so.

I could get started on a whole lot more but i'll just give you 1 more example: APPLE
Everyone has an ipod for some reason (I don't). The ipod in fact is crap compared to some other music players, yet sells 50x more. Why? Apple markets the ipod as cool, trendy, the thing to have etc. You can get better mp4's for cheaper but thats how apple dominates the market, blinding people to whats really good. I call these people sheep.
