I must have emailed UTV about something before as I now appear to be on their mailing list.

Anyway, in an email I got from them today, it says:

"So what do we have in store for you? Well, stay tuned to find out more about our new Seven Thirty Show line up, some fantastic new programs and the latest developments on our website, mobile apps and forthcoming HD service."

I know we expected a HD service from them but at least now they are publicly talking about it. Will it be FTA?, will it be FTV? Any thoughts?

ITV1HD, ITV HD but not UTV HD. When it launches I'd imagine it will be FTA

As we have to use other channels anyway, I don't an issue about there being no UTV HD. ITV1 HD suits me just fine, in fact I prefer it. Sure who wants to see Julian Clary (is he even still alive?) in HD??

...and of course it will be FTA.

Whether I have to access it using Other channels ir Non Freesat Channels, I don't mind, it is another free HD channel.

I'll stick with ITV1 HD, thanks. That Julian bloke does my head in! Plus, like BBC1 NI (but not as bad!), too much messing about with the network schedules in order to fit in their local interest programmes. Fair enough for the folks living in ''Norn Iron'', but not for me thanks. I have a fairly low threshold for programmes about pipe bands and NI politics.
