If you want one that's USB powered, the link below is probably the cheapest out there (again from HDUK).

    1 TB 2.5" USB Powered from Amazon - £99.99

Ordered Saturday, delivered today. Thats impressive

However transfer speeds seem a little slow.

    Great for the price though

How so? And what operating system are you on? The transfer would be more likely to be constrained by the software on your computer or by USB.

1TB......f*** I got a 320GB Passport a while back (was short ten euro in my paypal to get the 500GB and couldn't be bothered waiting)
Just about filled it.....with a ton of movies/media...(all legally backup-ed from my own personal dvds of course :o) and backups...of my full mac system...and anything important on my pc.....oh and a lot of duplicate content and stuff........and still got 10 gigs left tbh....

No idea how im gonna fill 1TB :D but gonna get a TB or two at the end of the month when i get paid....and then try :pac:

    Just ordered one :D

Anyone know whether these drives come with that annoying software WD preloads onto some? And if so, is it easily removable?

    Thanks :)

Seems to be welded together...well moulded then:D Seems to be only a pdf guide on it but I haven't really looked into it fully yet.

In order to partition the drive do i need to know what type of drive it is first, eg, SATA or IDE or something?

Its preformatted as file type NTFS which matches by c drive.

http://tokiwa.qee.jp/EN/Fat32Formatter/ will reformat it to FAT32. Xbox 360 and PS3 won't recognise NTFS. That program wouldn't work for me in windows 7 though.
