Vouchers after change of ownership

Just a quick question about vouchers that my mum and sister have for a beauty salon. They went in a few days ago to redeem the vouchers and were told that the salon had changed ownership a few months ago, and that vouchers issued from the last management were not going to be honoured. The name of the place stayed the same, so no one knew about the change in ownership. There were no signs on the window about the vouchers not being valid. The vouchers are only a few months old and one is for quite a large amount of money...is there anything that can be done? :(

If its the same company registration number , so the same company they should definitly be able to use them. However if a new company has been set up then teh money is gone unfortunately

I'm kinda confused by that as the name of the business has stayed the same. They weren't very specific about it, just something like the place had changed hands. Thanks for the help :)

Then they definitely have to honour the voucher as you are like a creditor. They hardly stopped paying their creditors when the place changed hands. Its their tough luck that they never thought about the outstanding vouchers when they took the place over.

I don't think it is possible to give reliable advice on the basis of the information given by OP. We do not know if the business was run by a company, a partnership, or a sole trader, and we don't know what the new owner took over (taking over "the salon" is clear enough for many purposes, but not for knowing if old vouchers are still valid).
