sky installation charge

    I'm switching to sky from upc, and have been told the installation charge is 79euros. Don't trust the salesman, and am very very short on cash.... is that the normal charge or am I being ripped off???

    PM sent- 79 euro is new price as of 29 July for new customers not taking HD pack. 49 for box and 30 install.

    OMG - 49 euro for being 2 days too late for free box. I'm going to have to wait for another offer to start up :(:(:(

    I remember when the boxes were nearly 600 euro so 49 is a steal-plus if he offered it to you for 79 including install, the 'no phone line charge' must have be waived-thats an extra 37.50. Taking a chance and waiting til September could end up with the price going up instead of down-it's the chance you take with sky.

    don't have the money:( but don't have any terrestrial reception either. Damn, I might just uncancel UPC and put up with the bad signal. So annoyed cos I've been thinking about it for weeks, didn't realise the offer was changing. You'd think there'd be an incentive to hook people in with.... all the offers now are for the rich - multiroom and HD, meh!

    Try SkyIrelands website-as far as I know they're offering 25 euro off if you join online.:)
