Porting phone numbers

    Myself and the gf both moved from o2 and meteor to 3 today on the iphone (should make for some interesting facetime calls... ;) )

    Anyway, apparently o2 and 3 are having problems porting numbers over.

    No ETA for a resolution yet.

    Frustrating but everything else has been very smooth today so can't complain

    Could be due to the fact that alot of Meteor and O2 customers joined three today, porting your number should only take 3-2 hours but with the volume of people porting over I'd give it 24 hours.

    Mine still hasnt ported over... o2 to three.

    Due Iphone4 02 -> 3 tmrw..how long were you waiting?
    Reckon 3 's stratgy worked well looking at the amount of boardsies that switched.

    Hey - I ported from o2 pre pay to three today - store had advised me they where not doing ports today but I could Customer services if I wanted, so I did - about 10am, was told porting from o2 was down and that i'd get a call back when it was available, got a call about 4pm and all was done within about 45 mins.

    Very happy with 3 so far! - remember to download the apple free bumper case app to get your free case!

    I changed from o2 to 3 at about 1 today and by the time I got back from town maybe an hour later my number had ported over.

    Myself and my wife both got the phone from 3 just a few minutes after launch.
    We're both moving from O2. Her number got ported about 3:00pm yesterday, but I'm still waiting on it.

    My initial port failed from meteor I quoted my ac number fully including the CA at the beginning of the ac detail from bill. Rang three and they said it failed but yer man recognised that it was the alpha chars removed them and 20 mins later port was complete.

    Ring 1913 on iPhone and have the 083 number at hand and they should put it through.

    I got my Iphone from three on Wednesday 4th from 3 and rang them up to port my number from meteor bill pay.

    First i was told "give it 1-2 hours"

    Next day still nothing, rang again "give it 12 - 24hrs"

    Next day nothing, rang again "having difficulties, give it 3 working days"

    4 working days later still nothing, "we have found the problem, definitely in the next 24hrs"

    Couple days later (over a week now) im recieving all messages and texts on my old fone but have to send everything from my Iphone

    Rang them up "your porting stalled halfway through and our technical people are doing their best, we will call you when its sorted"

    That was on friday and its still no different.

    Is anyone else have this trouble?

    I am having the same porting problem, moving from Meteor to Three. I'm on day 5 now !
    Is it worth my while reporting the problem to Comreg do you think ?, or are the ' porting problems' genuine?:(
    Update: I have just got off the phone to Three to find out what is happening. This is the third time to ring Three and I must say they are very professional. Basically when I rang Meteor first they told me there was no request in for a porting change. This was totally inaccurate. The guy in Three told me that Meteor rejected the change because there was an account mismatch. I had two phones with Meteor and i just wanted one to move over. Meteor said the request was wrong because they should have been told that the account was a multiline account instead of a single line. This is absolute Cr@P. How would Three know how many phones we had on account with Meteor. A phone number should be enough information. This is bad practice by Meteor and they will loose more customers because of their senseless tactics...In fact they will be loosing the 2nd number soon.
    I will also be making COMREG aware.

    I would recommend that you look into the terms and conditions before you start making complaints. Porting has always been that picky and if you had ported from any other network to any network the info has to be correct.

    The only way three can know if you are on a multi-line account or a single-line account is if you tell them. The three agent in the shop is the one who initiates the Port Out Request, so if three setup the port incorrectly then you would need to talk to them... but you are the one who told them the information about the port. Maybe he didnt explain it correctly but whats Meteor meant to do?

    Ill may be porting from Meteor to 3 myself shortly enough so hopefully goes better for me
