Celebrity sex tapes...what's your take?

People seem to think it all started with Paris Hilton, but tapes of this nature existed many years before....anyone remember Rob Lowe?

The advent of the internet has seen an explosion of these types of "tapes", but you have to ask yourself, why do people film them?
Is it a cynical ploy to generate publicity for publicity's sake?...or has society become sooo sexualized it's deemed ok and normal?

What's your opinion?

The only good one I ever saw was some American chick who was in survivor or something. Jenna something.
It was quite obvious that it was made with the intention of being leaked, but it was half decent. Still sub-par porn though.

Dustin Diamond aka Screech from the Saved by the Bell did one apparently. I've never seen it but it sounds hilarious, supposedly its called 'Saved by the Smell' and even includes a dirty sanchez :eek:

I personally always saw them as publicity stunts, the Paris Hilton one was 100% one, the rumours she directly profited from the DVD sales won't go away and was a main reason for her being excluded from the Hilton fortune when the wills were changed. Abi Titmus was another one desperate for fame and willing to do anything for a while, including John Leslie.

The Sally from Home and Away (real name Kate Ritchie) one is different, she refuses to talk about it and always has. She was 21 at the time and it happened in 2000, fair dues to her. Whatever your opinions of people who make these tapes, she genuinely seemed to have been a victim of something released that was always meant to be personal. With all the videos 'accidently' released nowadays it’s harder to feel sympathy for someone who makes them now, surely they recognise there are risks involved. This is probably the reason for my cynicism whenever one is released I suppose.

They're pretty lame. Those same girls can still get their norks out in Nuts or FHM or something, so why do a tape unless you're totally desperate for attention.
