Set up an account with MYSKY and have control over your account online.

When I ring them,if I don't get an answer within 2 mins after choosing my option I hang up and ring back or just pick a different option-you'd be amazed at how quick they are to transfer you to correct department.

I emailed them to mysky@bskyb.com last February to cancel & they came back to me within 2 days saying how sorry they were to lose me as a valued customer, blah, blah. They then confirmed the date I would be cut off.

I can canceled Sky recently and had no problems getting through.

I used email to downgrade around January which was fine, tried it again after that (around April) and got a reply saying I HAD to ring the Irish number.
So (for me anyway) they cut off the quick and easy email route.

If you request cancellation over the emails you have to be very precise in giving your account number and all details otherwise they can't trust the request is legit.

    To cancel by email:
Sky will need to know your full name, address, account number, viewing card number and any password on the account.

Not password, ever. No service ever asks for your passwored by email or voice.

At least for me last January.

I think they take away teh 'right' to cancel by email cos then you have to go through the bull**** of a phone call and persuasions and you will be more likely to stay or still give them money.

I'm ditching the robbing bastards even though i have 'half price' for a year.

I've rang them a couple of times in the last few months and got through within a couple of minutes, both to cork and Scotland. Downgrading was easy. They did offer a 20% discount for 6 months, which I refused, and that was it.
