Business Name / Partnership Dispute

    Hi all,
I hope this is the right forum to post this if not please move to relevant forum.

I am a member of a partnership / Business name with three other people. All four of us are sole traders and we decided at the time to form this partnership to share our work with each other that we couldn't cover ourselves. The business itself is non existant now as regards income, customers, etc. I would like to cease being part of this partnership as do two other partners. My problem is with the fourth partner who has never contributed anything to the business. Because of this lack of contribution on his part the business never grew. That is why we want to wipe our hands of it and move on. He will more than likely refuse to sign the form to cease the partnership/business name. What are my options? Any advice would be great.

    Get legal advice.

Off the top of my head, if there is no partnership agreement in writing, any one of the partners can dissolve the partnership at will. (This is one of the reasons why partnerships are a bad idea.)
