Wireless MP3 Players ?

Sorry if this thread has been done already, but I'm trying to find out if anyone has any experience with wireless, or almost wireless, MP3 players. I rarely train or race with music but in the later stages of an ultra it's sometimes nice to zone out for a little while to some music. My pet-peeve with music on the run is the headphone cord. I hate the feeling of the cord jogging up and down as I run along and I equally hate the sensation of earphones being tugged around when I get caught up in the cord (I'm an awkward sod). Anyway, someone mentioned to me recently that there are now such devices as bluetooth MP3 players that are completely wire free and others players where the actual player component is built into the headphones. This sounds like the solution to my problems but I havn't yet been able to track down a good example.

The Sony wearable walkman comes close (http://www.johnlewis.com/230569471/Product.aspx) but I'm put off by the fact that the accompanying software appears to be quite intrusive and you reportedly have to agree to Sony being able to read you pc filesystem to use it.

Has anyone else had experience of the sony or other similar devices. Price isn't a huge consideration but I can't see myself spending more than, say, Euro 200 for something I won't use lots of.

If you've a phone with bluetooth and music player Mick you could pair it with a set of bluetooth headphones as another option. You may then get more use out of the headphones as they could be used with many devices.

I've no personal experience of wireless players though.

If you go with a bluetooth headset, make sure it works with your particular bluetooth phone. I'm fairly sure that some (maybe older) phones like mine, don't do proper high quality stereo audio with bluetooth.

On the dangling/tugging headphone cord problem, someone here suggested using a hairclip on the neck of your top. I tried that and it works very well.

what a great idea. I always have a problem with the cord ... must rob a few clip of the missus!

Safety pin works as well if you don't have access to a supply of hair pins.....

This is something I've just ordered. Its more for cycling than running and its not wireless but might be of interest to some on here.

While I'll run while listening to music I can never do the whole listen to music while cycling....I guess atleast when running I can see the idiots driving like crazy towards me and take action if required :)

I recommend verifying the claim about the intrusive software before ruling this walkman out.

Allowing Sony read your filesystem sounds like something that would be widely reported and condemned. And there might be a hack to stop it doing it.

I just tuck the wire into my bra strap but I guess that wouldn't work for you :)
    There are these gizmo's
    http://www.magneat.com/
    which could work too.
