Hi maybe wrong area feel free to move, where can you get refried beans without nasty additives like onion power etc, the ol del paso ones have too much stuff in them and thats all they have in dunnes. Thanks : )

You could make your own - 2 cups pinto beans soaked overnight and cooked til soft, 2 cups minced onions, 6 cloves garlic minced, 2 tsp cumin, salt and pepper and optional bell pepper minced. Saute onion and half the garlic in olive oil over medium heat for 10 minutes, add optional bell pepper and continue cooking for 5 minutes, add remaining garlic and season. Turn heat to low, add beans and mix well, then mash with a fork or masher and cook for a few more minutes.

Certainly taste nicer than the tinned variety; lovely on deep fried corn tortillas with nachos sauce tomatoes, chilies and guacamole.

I agree. Making your own is dead easy. There are plenty of recipes across the internet, but so long as you soak the beans over night, then cook them for 1 to 2 hours, making sure they are always covered with water, that's all you need. If you put in some whole garlic and chopped onion while cooking they will be tastier. Add salt for flavour too :) Do let us know how the cooking adventure goes!
