ok, im normally half decent at mapping midi controllers and that sort of sh1te myself, but i cant get my head around setting up the xone 3d.

should the centre mixer controls be set to "external mixer" or "internal mixer" in the traktor settings? should the centre mixer controls like upfaders control the upfaders in traktor? i presume they shouldnt? as the way i see it is the two 1d's are the midi functions and the mixer acts as an analogue mixer so to speak?

when i use it, im usin reuglar audio (white / red) from the output monitor port on the back to my crappy pc speakers (i dropped my amp a while ago) and i deffo have the audio settings wrong.

channel 1 and 4 are both working. but theyre not working right.

theres no tutorials to setting it up and the instructions with it are useless.

anyone any ideas? finally got the windows 7 64 bit drivers to work and the midi controls are now workin with a custom tsi i got from the ni forums.

somebody help me fix my expensive toy asap :D

    cheers lads

    rob

Ah you should get something simpler you can get your head around like an Vestax or Hercules and ship that pile of poo my direction :D

    ..

    ....

..... Dont suppose thats gonna happen :P lucky git!

In seriousness though I would have thought set xone as audio, Set Traktor to external audio (disabling the centre channels) and the Xone channels mapped as the audio outputs in Traktor per each deck ? The Xone works as an analogue mixer on those channels i thought.

friend of mine had a nightmare with one of these, eventually had to install windows 32bit and use the 32bit driver,

but you say you've got the 64bit working, set the traktor settings to external mixer,
do you need 4 decks? 2 decks is all i've ever needed. then its a case of using the midi learn functions in traktor, add a control, assign it a target deck, hit the learn function, twiddle the knob, done. with traktor you also need to duplicate the control and set it to output if you want led feedback from your buttons. Its a complicated beast so best of luck to you.

ok, so i found a guide to setting it up on the a&h site, i have the problem figured out i think.

for audio i have it set to asio4all v2 (for the 4 deck compatibility)

for audio output i have it set mixer to external as per the guide, but when i click the dropdown for each of the channels, i should be able to set channel a in traktor to channel 1 of the built in soundcard of the 3d, but the soundcard doesnt show up in traktor. all that shows up in the dropdown is the laptop soundcard.

anyone? dyin to actually do a set on this bad boy :(

is there seperate drivers for the soundcard....aswell as the midi side of it? cus technically it's two devices?

thats what i thought and i was looking for soundcard drivers on their site and couldnt find any link.

it does say to use the installation disk but i had to get the windows 7 64 bit drivers downloaded first and now i cant find the installation disc.

ill have another look for the disc later, id say thats probably the problem alright.

drivers for the actual midi have been included in the windows 7 64 bit drivers but the soundcard drivers are seperate.

i seen ur pm, but your account doesnt allow pms, so i couldnt send one back.

i got a legit copy of windows xp, backed up all my music and stuff, booted the laptop with the xp cd, and formatted laptop then installed xp.

once the machine was running xp the controller worked perfectly.

I know this is an old thread but the people having problems with it and Windows 7, is it not possible to run the drivers in an XP mode environment through Windows 7?

You can download the XP mode here :

Ive a 3d and the midi has calved..

The allen & heath website lists rea sounds in cookstown as the ireland agent. But at two hours away, hardly ideal.

Ive tried aquarius who dont repair a&h, has anyone any recommendations in the leinster area?

    Thanks.
