    Hi all.

Anyone know what is going to happen with this proposed strike by are lingus cabin crew!?!? Its like a run of bad luck for my parents and bro and sis! They had booked to go to Spain and booked hotel with 1800hotels. But because they went bust, I repaid the price of the hotel for my parents as an anniversary present! - €600! Apparently its going to be decided on August 9th whether or not they are going to go on strike and will only effect people traveling after the 16th. My family are going on the 25th!!! Talk about bad luck! Can anyone shed some light on this or what is happening. My ma is in a SERIOUS panic. Understandably, after paying for the holiday almost twice!!

    Thanks guys

So far. However, it's my understanding that if management continue with the disputed rosters that the action could escalate.

A strike means those involved in the dispute do no work. Work-to-rule is when there's some strict interpretation of the job's requirements that's adhered to. Basically if you're asked to do anything that's even the slightest bit out of this (e.g. overtime or doing any unusual task) you refuse to do it. If anyone's pushed on this, then the actions typically escalate.

Are you sure you're not confusing this with the strike by Spanish air traffic controllers? 'Coz that's due tomorrow.
