    Hi
    Just saw a what looked like something on fire slowly pass overhead in south Dublin? Really didn't look like an aircraft?
    anyone see it or any idea what it was?

    More than likely it was the ISS(International space station) it passes over head quite often but you rarely see i with cloud cover. Great speed off it and very bright.

    Hi Kayakboy,posted a much longer reply but lost connection.
    don't want to seem ignorant to poster who suggested it was the ISS but no pass was due over Ireland last night.
    I agree it was proably a Chinese Lantern.
    having checked the A&S forum almost every day for over a year now it is a regular occurance that Lanterns are mistaken for UFO's,ISS etc.
    The website below is in My experiance the best way to check when the ISS will be visable.Just to see it once is well worth the effort,it is Stunning!:)
