    Hi all just a quick question
    I am thinking about changing from a sky subscribition to fta, can someone tell me can i use my skybox to receive fta or do i need a specific box?

    It's a very common question .

    You do not have to invest in new equipment which can be expensive. You can continue to use your current sky box and dish without a sub.

    For a preview of what you can view without a sub, power off your box at the mains, remove the card and power up the box. The EPG (program guide) will have changed to the UK default , BBC , ITV , C4 , Five and many others can be viewed. For subscription channels like Sky1 if you try to view them you'll get an on screen error message saying you need a valid sub to view this channel.

    Currently there is no RTE, TV3 or the others Irish digital channels available on a sky box without a sub.
