what part of the country are you in? its a dignostic tool which will show up faults with the car. it might show a problem with the clocks. did you buy the car with no spedo working??

Oh man, the craic we had with this very problem. As mentioned above, you will need to get the diagnostics run. We were initially told it was a problem with the sensor- got it replaced, but no joy. The garage we were dealing with (main dealer in Castlebar & Galway) then told us we needed a full new dash clocks at a cost of about 800 EUR!!! In the end, we spoke with one of the mechanics in a North Side Dublin main dealer. He suggested it may be a loose wire somewhere behind the handbrake- fixed it in a few mins at a cost of about EUR100.... after about 6 months of having no working speedo!

Yeah, that sounds like what was wrong with mine... fuel guage was up and down like a yo yo and MPH needle was alternating between flying up and down and just doing nothing. Oh, and it wasn't clocking up any mileage. Got it fixed in the Skoda dealer on Prussia Street in the end.

There is a fuse that you can take out and they should start working again. The clock and trip mileage will reset themselves every time you switch the car off but everything else can come back to life.

    It's fuse no.15.

I've had this problem twice and it worked but they were both diesels.

That garage just loves to go for the dearest option first instead of trying with the cheap fix and seeing if that fixes the problem. And yes I am talking with experience.

Text Speak. It's very annoying, to be honest, and is not allowed on Boards.
