    Hi Soph,

I have puppy classes starting at my doggie daycare in Cork next week.

If you know very little about dog ownership then the classes are a must, the information you learn is invaluable, and you start off on the right foot with your dog, avoiding a lot of trouble in the future.

If you have brought up many well behaved dogs in the past and have friends and family with dogs that you can socialise your pup with, then you may not need to go to the classes.

The socialisation part of the class is really important, its SOOOOO important to socialise your puppy between weeks 12 - 16/18 as this is when they are most confident and open to new experiences. Make sure you manage every environment that your pup is in though so he/she doesnt spook and develop a phobia.

just incase your new to dog ownership, there are some great tips here. Its for timid dogs, but very relevant to puppies
