3 NBS - Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting

Here I am yet again with more NBS problems.

I have an external antenna and "Coiler" repeated in the main bedroom. I have an office down the hall, and a windows laptop connected to the Huawei ES830 Mi-Fi dongle. There is also a MacBook (running Snow Leopard) in the office which is connecting via the wi-fi signal from the Huweai.

This was working ok for the last few weeks, but recently the wi-fi signal has been dropping for the MacBook. Its difficult to stay connected for more than 10 minutes before I get disconnected.

Any suggestions as to how I can fix this (without going through the nightmare that is 1913) would be greatly appreciated.

Wifi problems won't be anything to do with Three, so no point ringing them. Could be interference, range, software issues, hardware issues, etc. You're going to just have to go through things one at a time. First change the Wifi channel, then try changing the security settings (even try it turned off for a while). Plug out any Dect phones in the vicinity to see if they are effecting it. Connect only one device at a time to the Wifi network, and so on.

Range = less that 1 meter between the MacBook and the dongle, and less than 4 meters between the dongle and the repeater.

Interference = not sure where there could be any ... the house is in the middle of the countryside and not near anything that could cause interference.

Software issues = it connects sometimes ... it disconnects at random intervals. How would I test for software issues?

Hardware issues = all hardware seems to be working ok. How do I check for issues?

How do I change the wi-fi channel? And the security settings? (Apologies for being so stupid).

There is only one device (the MacBook) connected to the wi-fi.

Hardware or software errors would be with the Mac, and I've no idea how you'd go about checking those.

Consul your modem documentation for how to change settings on it.
