Been asked before I'm sure, but up to date info is a must with this. I'm probably going to get a GPS App for my iPhone, I decided against it with the 3G but think the 4 is up to it now. WHat are people's thoughts on the App's? is TomTom any good? There were major issues with the maps for Ireland when it was released. The reviews on iTunes aren't very thorough and are really contradictory. Navigon and copilot are the other options and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The other App's seem to be done by "the little guy" and I'd buy them if they really outshined the bigger guys, no interest in getting branded stuff.

Also, thoughts on a car kit would be nice.

IMO if you are used to using a Garmin GPS then the switch over to Tom Tom is very difficult. The whole way that you have to find locations and save favourites is very cumbersome .

Thinking of changing to a different App - certainly not worth spending the 70 odd quid

The crap sat nav apps on the iphone is the reason I'm going to use my Nokia N96 as my work phone when I get the iphone for personal use.
Garmin maps on it is fantastic, updated and completely accurate and is miles better than anything on the iphone...
damn you garmin..why won't you code it for the iphone :(

+1 for Navigon app for me and I have used a few of them. Phone needs to be connected to a charger when using GPS as it eats battery. Car kit - apparently the Parrot MKi9200 is the best

Navigon is the business. Very happy with it.

Same here. Have used Navigon and I find it very reliable.

Some of the very new motorways were missing but navigon has just updated its maps.

+2 on the Navigon. Used it on a N95 and was good.

Can also recommend the Parrot kit, have a MKi9100. Haven't got an iPhone yet ;) to check it out though from Parrot forum seems to work fine and the firmware is regularily updated
