Athletics--European Championships

personally dont no much about it but was watching it after the races today on rte,,cant think of the panelists names but they seemed to know what they were talking about anyway,
they fancy David Gillick for the mens 400m,hes 5/2 on pp??thoughts...

anyway,does anyone know this side of betting an in particluar this championship..wouldnt be a man for betting big on athletics but if someone could persuade me then i might have a bet for interest sakes..

athletics betting is defo something new to the forum and hopefully with some knowledgeable heads, money can be made..;)

thoughts/opinions/analysis all appreciated..:)

I am not Being anyway Ignorant or Disrespectful but I wouldn't back anybody if they were Blind!Even if they are at the top of their game I would feel like I am throwing Money away!

Well that is a bit of an ignorant statement as it shows your complete lack of knowledge of the sport. David Gillick is a fully sighted 400m runner with one of the fastest pbs in europe and has every chance of picking up a medal in the 400m final on friday (albeit i dont think it will be gold).

Gillick is 4/1 biggest price and 5.2 or so on Betfair. It's a couple of ticks too big in my opinion. Only himself or Borlee can win in my opinion.

All the real value is gone though. Borlee was 11/4 with Boyles pre Championship.

An each way bet at 7/2 (1/3 1-2) is porbably not a bad shout though. Odds against for a top 2 place is bigger than it should be.

i can get 4-1 for gillick..
but when i place the bet there is no option for e/w.
is it the top 2 or 3 for e/w..and is it 1/3 the odds ya.

4/1 is best price with BWIN but that is win only.

7/2 (1/3 the odds, first 2) with PP or Bluesquare/888 is what i would be backing if going for Gillick. I think the each way is a bit big. Prices look about right though. Based on season form, Borlee is capable of a quicker time than Gillick if both run to their peak.
