How many of you got warnings in work?

I myself got them all. I had an entry level job after college and stayed there for 3 years. Got first verbal, written and final written in the course of the three years but was not let go. I don't think I was that much bad of an employee. The warnings were for small infringments such as timekeeping and what not, but I believed I was a good worker!

Did anyone else get them? What stage of your career were you at?

I've only ever got one official warning, and that was in my first job years back, cos my til was short €1.20 or something!

    Never
But imo I probably deserved a few in my time.

I've watched people get escorted off the premises and told in the lobby they were sacked, P45 in the post and your swipecard is now deactivated, HR clears the desk and brings down a box of belongings, never nice to see.

Once, at my last job. Not the reason I left (much as my boss kept hammering home that my card had been 'marked') but one of the reasons I'd never go back :)

I got one once for not paying taxes.. my name was even printed in the local paper.. I had no clue that I had to pay taxes and had no idea what they were talking about for the whole meeting.. wasn't until the end until I twigged I was in trouble!.. :pac:

Oh god, I've had two, but they were both from short-term temp jobs, so they were never going to be on my CV anyway :D

One was completely and utterly OTT about a file not being assembled the way they wanted it (honestly, it wouldn't have been the end of the world).
As soon as I got a 'proper' job, I told them I'm leaving today, starting a new job tomorrow, buhbye!
If I'm going to get a warning over misplacing pages in an old fecking file, I didn't see why I should give them the courtesy of giving them a proper notice period. Warnings should be given for things like poor discipline, or doing something that has a very serious impact on other staff, customers or the company.

Got kicked out of a place in London once. They hired me to do customer service (inbound) but their plan was such a mess they put me doing outbound cold calling. Naturally, I was no good at it.

They gave me a weeks notice but I didn't care because I got a call on the same day and happily ended up selling flowers for Debenhams over the phone (inbound of course) which I was quite good at and quite liked for a while.
