Katie Price, one more gaff but too far?

She's not exactly known for choosing her words carefully.
But even Katie Price may have gone too far this time when she said children that come from divorced families are 'lucky'.
Appearing on This Morning yesterday, the glamour model said they were probably better off than those whose parents were still together as they got 'extra' presents.

Seriously? Does this lady know no basic level of stupidity in which to stoop to?

Apparently she has gotten herself into deep troubled water with this example of her possible mental stupidity.

At least she has a new gaff to live in, though...

She, along with Kerry Katona, are living proof that the genepool does indeed need the occasional flush out!

I'm not her biggest fan but I don't really see the big deal here.. She obviously said it in the context that you would say it to a child of a broken marriage, in a consolling fashion.. as opposed to saying that divorce is a great thing..

Consoling a child with the fact that they get more presents? That's just wrong. There's no pretty side to divorce.

My parents are divorced - separated when i was 3 or 4.

They have always been civil to each other, never put myself or the brother in uncomfortable positions, never argued publically.

For me, the main thing I remember from my childhood (and to this day) is that I get separate presents for birthday and christmas from them.

My luck is that my parents split was so amicable and the support of the extended family was so good myself and my brother never felt we lost out with our parents being split up, but as I child I definitely felt lucky that I got two sets of presents.

As such, what Katie Price has said doesn't bother me at all, as it rings true in my case.

She has let herself down with the generalisation of the comment though - as she says ALL these kids are lucky, there are a damned high number of unlucky kids from broken homes that don't get the luck and support my family got.

She's an idiot...we all know this to be true.

I know it's not pretty, but they're children, there has to be SOME consolation in a situation like that.. What else are you going to tell them "sorry but we're divorcing, it's not pretty but suck it up" of course nobody wants to be get a divorce and the kids are always the ones to suffer the most.. but I can see where she was coming from saying that.. perhaps it was aimed at her own children..

She long since became a focus of morbid curiosity rather than actual 'celebration', and is effectively encouraged to act/talk outlandishly.

Don't get me wrong, i still think she's absolutely vile, but the media is determined
to portray as nothing but a pariah.

It is usually the reality tho. Again what is the issue here bar ad hominem attacks.

No, have you read the thread there is a number of posts attacking Jordan with no reference to the topic.

Again I dont see how this a gaff? Who did she offend? Whose confidence she break? What secret did see reveal? What protocol did she break etc

Here's another example of her stupidity:

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a270712/price-leaves-sex-message-for-13-year-old.html
Katie Price has been slammed for writing a crude message to a 13-year-old during a recent book signing.

After Devon teenager Jack McBirney waited two hours for Price to autograph his copy of her novel Paradise, the model wrote: "To Jack and wet dreams. Jordan."

According to The Sun, Price also caused McBirney to go "completely red" when she asked the teenager: "Are you staring at my t*ts?"

McBirney said: "I waited for ages to see her and when I walked up she asked if I was looking at her chest. I wasn't at all.

"She asked me what I wanted her to write. I said I didn't mind and she put the thing about wet dreams. I was very surprised."

Shirley Williams, McBirney's grandmother and full-time carer, condemned the model's actions and advised others not to let their children attend similar events with the 32-year-old.

Williams said: "That woman is a disgrace. Jack is 13 for heaven's sake. Jack looks his age. He is very obviously a young teenage boy and it was wrong.

"Imagine a grown man leaving a sex message for a girl that age - they would be arrested. She is a mother and should know better.

"People should think twice about letting children go to a Katie Price book signing."

McBirney added: "I just wanted an autograph. I got Patrick Moore and Brian May's autographs from book signings and they never wrote anything rude."

I also saw a headline on one of those glossy mags where she said that her marriage to Alex Reid needs a baby to help it survive!

Honestly, why do good children happen to bad people?

So the likes of British royal clan and other rough necks can subject their ilk upon the people sadly.

I cant stand katie price, hate her guts, BUT!!! lets all try understand that with her limited intelligence and keen capacity for fu*king up, I think she was trying to find a positive, she just cannot translate thoughts into words very well. Plus if she wasnt such a bitch, that wouldnt be in the paper, she could say anything nice and it wont be printed or taken out of context, wheres the fun in that Max clifford!!!

its her own fault for trying to exist on the superficial tightrope that his British media. I dont see the big problem.

I might be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure I read that Jordan said "let them eat cake" in response to French peasants demanding bread...
    What won't she stoop to?

    Ugh!....vile woman.
